CyberArk 2024 Identity Security Threat Landscape EMEA Report

June 3, 2024

The CyberArk 2024 Identity Security Threat Landscape EMEA Report is based on a survey of 1,050 security decision-makers. This year’s report examines identity security in the age of GenAI, machine identities and digital ecosystems.

While most organizations have adopted AI-powered tools in their identity-related cybersecurity initiatives, 94% also anticipate a negative impact from AI as malicious actors exploit the same technology. We’re also seeing machine identities drive overall identity growth — and security threats. Ironically, 62% define a privileged user as “human only” leaving machine identities wildly over-privileged and under-secured.

It’s no surprise that businesses increasingly rely on countless third and fourth-party providers:  88% expect SaaS application growth in the year ahead. Naturally, bad actors are choosing your vendors (and vendors’ vendors) as a favored way to access your sensitive data. Organizations must reconsider how, where and when to safeguard their data.
